Homeopathy

a 200-year-old solution

to 21st Century challenges

With Denise Straiges,  MA, CCH, RSHom(NA), PCH

2024 Conference Recordings

FHS is honored to host Denise for two full days of in-depth study. Over the course of the seminar, autoimmunity provides the lens through which participants will examine the ways in which the simple, elegant homeopathic process can unravel even the most complicated pathologies.

All those interested in Homeopathy are welcome!

About Denise Straiges, MA, CCH, RSHom(NA), PCH

Denise is fiercely committed to raising the bar in academic and clinical training for all homeopaths. She is President and Clinical Director of the Academy of Homeopathy Education (AHE). Under her leadership, AHE was named the exclusive educational provider for the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH), the oldest medical society in the US. Denise has taught for numerous homeopathic schools in the US and abroad, as well as spoken at conferences worldwide in Homeopathy, interactive wellness and spirituality in medicine. She also established HOHM Foundation, whose programs include the Homeopathy Help Network, a not-for-profit, research based initiative focused on delivering high-quality, affordable Homeopathy care to all.

About the Topic

The American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) estimates that more than 50 million Americans suffer from one or more autoimmune related conditions. The AARDA expands upon the 24 conditions recognized by the National Institute of Health as being related to autoimmunity (such as Hashimoto’s, multiple sclerosis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, and alopecia) and suggests that conditions such as autism, depression, and even cancer can be traced to a mal-functioning immune system.

Why does this matter? And how can Homeopathy, a 230-year-old modality, provide insights into a set of problems that vex the contemporary medical system and its implementation?

It matters because we have entered into a time when serious chronic diseases—those considered to be diseases of middle and older age—are now being diagnosed in children. And new conditions such as PANS and PANDAS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections) demonstrate how acute infectious diseases are exploding into serious, debilitating conditions in both children and adults.

Over the course of the seminar, autoimmunity will provide the lens through which participants will examine how disease has morphed and changed over time as relates to medical suppression, food supply, and the resulting damage to our gut biome. A variety of cases will be explored to demonstrate the ways in which the simple, elegant homeopathic process can unravel even the most complicated pathologies.

Homeopathy, with its 230 years of clinical experience is based on universal laws that don’t change. An historical overview of Hahnemann’s discoveries will be reviewed to help participants make sense of how, in the two centuries since Hahnemann set forth his system, numerous interpretations of his work have emerged—some bearing little, if any, resemblance to its original intentions. Cases examples of misapplied Homeopathy will be used to articulate the inherent risks of using this potent medicine outside of its scope.

Finally, Hahnemann’s application of these natural laws provides a roadmap for recovery that includes mandates for lifestyle and regimen that support the body as it heals from chronic disease. Care will be taken to situate Homeopathy into the larger healing paradigms that help support the body, mind and spirit in recovery.

Conference Objectives

1. Critically evaluate the impact of the evolution of Hahnemann’s system of medicine and how the 78 year gap between Hahnemann’s death and the publication of the sixth and final edition of The Organon affects 21st century practice.

2. Analyze the concept of “autoimmunity” through its 21st century definition and compare it with Hahnemann’s Chronic Disease theory.

3. Appraise appropriate application of the principles of Homeopathy in safe and effective work with chronic/autoimmune cases.

4. Discuss the importance of integrated therapies in the recovery process of people healing from chronic and autoimmune conditions.
