Preparing for the Holiday Season

Holidays are a great opportunity for family and friends to get together! Usually, seasonal food and treats are a big part of these holiday gatherings. Sally Tamplin will discuss useful homeopathic remedies to have on hand for accidents in the kitchen, upset tummies, episodes of food poisoning and even hangovers. Another part of the holiday season is close contact with others and the risk for getting sick with colds, coughs and the flu. Sally will guide us through some good homeopathic remedies and cell salts that can help keep us healthy when we’re particularly worried about infection and if we do get sick.

Sometimes anticipating and preparing for holiday gatherings becomes a very stressful part of our busy lives. Sally will draw our attention to homeopathic remedies and Bach essences that can help us manage holiday stress and especially what we can have on hand when we may encounter difficult situations and people that can throw us off balance.

FHS welcomes Dr Jody Bearman for an enlightening course on veterinary homeopathy. We will learn about differences in various species and breeds, and how this affects your homeopathic understanding and prescribing in our animal friends. Normal behaviors, nutritional needs and anatomy differ significantly between animals. Knowing what is normal for each species helps to differentiate from dis-ease. We will discuss how remedy states appear uniquely in several animal species such as dogs, cats, horses; demonstrated with examples from Dr. Bearman’s practice.

Dr. Jody Bearman, DVM, CVH, CVA, CVCH, CVSMT, CCH graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BS in Bacteriology and from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM in 1992. She worked in small town mixed practice (horses, farm animals, small animals) then small animal and exotic practice using Western medicine for 16 years.

Wanting to help animals that couldn’t be diagnosed or treated with Western medicine and those that developed severe side effects from Western medicine, she took the Chi Institute for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine mixed animal course and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2005. Dr. Jody was an instructor at the Chi Institute, the first of it’s kind outside of China. She is a certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist and practices tui-na (Chinese massage and physical therapy) and food therapy. She took courses in Advanced Applied Kinesiology (advanced manipulation, testing and treatment techniques) and became certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy at The Healing Oasis Wellness Center, and is a member of the College of Animal Chiropractors.

Dr. Jody is a graduate of the Pitcairn Institute for Veterinary Homeopathy and is a certified Veterinary Homeopath.
